Researches made during 30's by Lapicque, both as an artist and as a physicist, concerning colors and their spreading out into space, produce their results in 1939 and during those WWII years.
Lapicque understands (and gives back) the world around by using blue frames which figure out the closer subjects and multiple red and yellow backgournds.
A lot of artists (the new non-figurative school of
Paris) will follow this direction. Some of them will explore roads to abstraction, some else, as Lapicque, will keep a more or less figurative touch
Thus, Lapicque will go on with his researches and builds the white frame, less rigourous and the interlaced system. Next period, the interlaced paintings.
